Superb antique two-part asparagus dish, with its built-in drainer at the bottom of the dish, in the "creux à grille" (gridded hollow) style.

This earthenware piece dates from 1896. It appears in the 1896 catalog, where the Nimy earthenware factory presents four models of asparagus dishes. This model exists in several colors, and all the decorations are of high quality.

The Nimy factory was founded in 1789 and received the title of "Manufacture Impériale et Royale" (Imperial and Royal Manufactory) in the same year.

In 1849, the earthenware factory was acquired by J.P. Mouzin, who also acquired the Onnaing factory in 1894. The whole then became the "Société Anonyme de la Faïencerie d’Onnaing" (Onnaing Earthenware Factory Public Limited Company). Although the Nimy molds were transferred to Onnaing, production continued on site. The same models, with some color variations, were produced in both factories.
