Miniature created in the 19th century after Gosse. The miniature painting is framed and signed in red in the bottom left. The painting by Nicolas Louis Gosse (1787-1878) is kept at the Palace of Versailles. On July 7, 1807, Tsar Alexander I and Emperor Napoleon I, the two most powerful sovereigns of continental Europe, signed a secret treaty in Tilsit, a small fortified town in East Prussia (also spelled Tilsitt). In the miniature, we can see Napoleon Bonaparte, Talleyrand, Tsar Alexander I, and his wife.
