Painter of landscapes and still lifes. His brushwork is like a scratch. His still lifes, like his landscapes, are made up of a detail that has become the subject, pushing away anything that might compete, and this void is where the light resides. The landscape is reduced to a reef between land and sea, the still life to a glass and a few grapes. He sometimes dabbles in non-figuration*, but the irregular spheres are there to rival the milky spaces. He is also the author of small formats, scarred like those of Nicolas de Staël*.
