The Polignac model was specially designed in the late 1950s for the banquet lunch offered by France (under President René Coty) to Queen Elizabeth II, in the Grand Gallery of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles, on April 9, 1957.

It is a beautiful model, made of strong, deeply cut crystal, reflecting beautiful light, with a diamond-cut stem. The glasses are in very good condition.
