Each of these plaques features an elegantly openwork rocaille shape, typical of 19th-century Dutch decorative style. Entirely hand-painted in the famous Delft blue monochrome, they illustrate two rural scenes of great finesse:

– The first plaque depicts a windmill perched on a hill, accompanied by figures in traditional attire;
– The second reveals a peaceful landscape with a farm, river, and herd of cows.

These picturesque scenes accurately evoke the windmills and polder landscapes around Amsterdam, notably the regions of Zaanse Schans or Kinderdijk, so often immortalized by Dutch artists of the era.

Each plaque is signed in the decor by the painter Frans B. Höppé, a recognized figure for his naturalistic and bucolic compositions.
