Elegant Second Empire jardinière, in blackened wood enhanced with finely chiseled bronze ornaments.
It rests on four tapered and fluted legs, united by an X-shaped stretcher adorned in its center with a bronze motif.
The edge of the top is encircled with brass fillets, while the lid, of beautiful decorative richness, displays a motif of acanthus leaves and mother-of-pearl flowers.
Small bronze side handles add a precious and refined touch to the ensemble.
The interior, in original sheet metal, is fitted with its period handles.

Coming from a château in Burgundy, this piece testifies to the opulent and controlled taste of the Second Empire, an era when furniture combined imperial splendor and ornamental delicacy.

Perfect in an entrance hall, a living room or a winter conservatory, it will host plants, floral arrangements or serve as a ceremonial object.
