Bring the refined charm of the 19th century into your home with this superb Paris porcelain bowl, entirely hand-painted and enhanced with rich gilded accents.
A work from a Parisian workshop in the first half of the 19th century, it wonderfully illustrates the savoir-faire of the "Vieille Paris" manufactures.
On its two cartouches are scenes of rural life: a man preparing his tobacco and a woman holding a long wooden spoon, poetic evocations of French rural daily life.
The other panels, adorned with gilded motifs – arrows, axes, and stylized foliage – lend the whole a rustic and elegant symbolism.
The porcelain, a deep red enhanced with fine gold, is displayed on a flared form resting on a stable and harmonious pedestal.
A piece that is both decorative and functional, ideal as a fruit bowl, centerpiece, or collection item.
