Superb monumental centerpiece in fine earthenware from the Jules Vieillard manufacture in Bordeaux, circa 1850–1870.
This spectacular bowl, in a deep and luminous blue, is supported by two upright lions and adorned with mascarons with powerful expressions. The relief decoration, combining foliage and volutes, testifies to the technical and artistic virtuosity of the Bordeaux manufacture.
Under the base, the impressed mark "Bordeaux JV" can be seen, accompanied by three intertwined crescents—the authentic emblem of the Vieillard house.
