Superb center table in blackened pearwood, rectangular with rounded sides, protected by a glass top.
Its top, bordered by a frieze with a bronze molding, features a marquetry in the center with multiple decorations, such as cups, birds, flowers, and scrolls. This top also offers double-framed fillets, all made with brass and ivory inlays.
These same border motifs are found on the belt of this table, which opens with an 8 cm deep drawer. It is equipped with its original key and lock in working order.
The whole rests on four turned, tapered, and fluted legs. They are embellished with rudentures and collars – high and low – sculpted and in bronze. These four uprights end in top feet and are connected by a stretcher on which the same inlay fillets as those described above are recalled. At the junction of the half-moons that constitute this lower part is placed a bronze vase with a chiseled lid and elaborate handles.
This decorative table, designed during the reign of Napoleon III, will bring a lot of character to your interior.
