Carl Frederik Liisberg, born on May 15, 1860, in Aarhus and passed away on April 19, 1909, in Frederiksberg, was a Danish painter and sculptor specializing in porcelain. Inspired by Japonism and Art Nouveau, he joined the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Copenhagen in 1885, where he remained an essential contributor to its artistic evolution. Liisberg's creations, marked by a touch of Japonism and Art Nouveau, often featured animal subjects such as mice, fish, and birds.

His talent is celebrated in prestigious museums, including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Musée National de la Céramique in Sèvres, and the Bröhan Museum in Berlin.

The Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Copenhagen, globally known as Royal Copenhagen, has been producing magnificent porcelain objects since its foundation in 1775 in Copenhagen.
