In 1880, Christofle acquired the Alfénide manufactory and renamed it Orfèvrerie Gallia. The hallmark of the Gallia collection, created by Christofle in 1898, is a rooster in a shield inscribed "Gallia métal", "Orfèvrerie Gallia" or "Gallia" until 1942⁶². From 1942 to 1974, the rooster was inscribed in a square labeled "GALLIA" then "COLL. GALLIA"
