Very large 19th-century Impressionist painting of the Marne riverbank, signed by Paul MORIZET.

Marne riverbank landscape painted in 1902

The work depicts the banks of the Marne with its towpath, a beautiful boat in the center of the painting departing from the pier. Houses with willows and poplars reflected in the water, in summer. Paul MORIZET needed to paint outdoors to find his inspiration from nature.

This landscape painter and wood engraver was born in Paris in the 19th century. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes français in Paris and received an honorable mention in 1884.

Medal of Honor at the Soisson Exhibition in 1902 or 1904.
